2007 was a huge year for Microsoft with the release of Vista and Office 2007. Whereas Office 2007 may not have the base that the VPs were hoping for just yet, Vista is huge. (I personally love it, and for me, has none of the quirks that people complain about.) The install base for Vista beat Apple's whole OSX install base in 5 weeks. 5 weeks. There's a stat you don't hear everyday.
